Hats that make your look chic!

In Accessories, Hats on October 16, 2011 at 12:54 pm

If not different!! I can’t stop saying the importance of bringing last touches to a style and accessories on common outfit! Specially in autumn with the return of ‘sad’ colors (black, grey, beige, etc.). Well I confess to fall in love with bold colors.

Hat for this season is the accessory-to-have in your dressing. And if not yet: a shame! You’re late. Run and get one! Garance Doré was shot, during last Paris Fashion Show (Spring/Summer 2012) wearing a Gucci wide brimmed hat with double G metal ornament in orange.

Japanese girls and boys, known to be married with fashion (ahahah), have their hats in their dressing, and believe me they can’t live without their hat… But no-one wears a floppy calf hat in Tokyo, except me (well but I am not Japanese, so…).

Here are some suggestions:

Whatever you wear: short, pants, dress, or nothing, the hat makes you feel elegant. See how Stylist Catherine Baba is elegant as usual. She successes by combining a hat with a pair of sunglasses as anybody else and I admire her for her style and her “j’adore” (in French) that she adds in each sentence in English. My favorite? Well I love the Gucci wide brimmed hat with double G metal ornament hat in teal felt with green grosgrain trim and teal feathers. You may have it in various colors: orange, black, antique rose, cherry, and grape. And the Lanvin one a beautiful floppy calf hat. The H&M one in wood available in black, burgundy and beige. What to think of the Emilio Pucci, original as chic? So I don’t have any favorite hat, as you may see. Mais mieux vaut en avoir beaucoup donc (French for: better having a lot of hats so…)

Prada in Green. Not Green but the GREEN!!

In Bags on September 28, 2011 at 6:04 pm

So I heard from a Paris-based Balenciaga shop staff member that green will be the color of spring and summer 2012. But not all green, a specific green. Yet he couldn’t describe it. And I was “ah! what do you mean with green, green, green?” He answered “Green!!!! Mais si!!! (Yes!!!) You know that sort of green much beautiful than, oh how to describe it. Well you will see with the next season!”. It was in August!! And I did not understand what he was talking about. Now I understand. Now I have a clue: this green is so beautiful, so gorgeous, so Oh My! And see how it perfectly matches with gold. A bag by Prada for next season Spring/Summer 2012 that will go with printed clothes (or with every kind of clothes). Of course, it is already in my wish-list. Ah Prada quand tu tiens mon compte en banque (ah Prada you will kill my credit card)!!!.

All Prada bags can be bought online.

Must-wish of the moment: Prada shoulder bag

In Bags on September 25, 2011 at 4:23 pm

The bag of the moment: Prada shoulder bag. Unless for me… Yet all models, editors, bloggers carry it according to pictures I saw during these fashion weeks. You can also use it as a clutch.

Bizarrely, I’ven’t seen this bag in Japan yet. I however confess I just arrived in Tokyo but I know how deep is the love Japanese fashionistas have for Prada and Miu Miu. And no Prada bag as such…

This September’s Accessories Trend and other blablas (French for ‘chatting’)

In Bags, Fashion, Jewelry, Shoes, Uncategorized on September 12, 2011 at 12:42 am

I was walking on Avenue Montaigne this Vogue Fashion’s Night when I saw all these fashionistas (I confess to be a fashionista, myself) looking at, if not to say admiring, Vogue France Fashion editors Emmanuelle Alt, Géraldine Saglio, Célia Azoulay, and Véronique Didry, and models among other Natasha Poly, Isabelli Fontana, and Anja Rubik. I noticed that all of these voguette were in black. Véronique Didry, for instance, known for her simple, boyish, but very chic style, wore a black hat. She impressed me once again and as usual with her boyish style.

(As you can see I need to repair my lamented Nikon D70 for greater pictures). I have the same in brown. You can find it at H&M. You can wear it with everything, a dress for instance, while it looks a bit boyish. As for the shoes, I will opt for something like brogues that you can find from H&M to Robert Clergerie. I really need one… Some suggestions: H&M Brogues, Balenciaga Silver Derbys (French for ‘Brogues’), and Robert Clergerie Brogues. But there are many more…

Now, let’s move onto Géraldine Saglio, who is one of my favorite fashion editors (with Taylor Tomasi-Hill, Mélanie Huynh, Giovanna Bottaglia, and, and Anna Dellor Russo), in total black, of course, wore a Aurélie Bidermann Snake Necklace, according to what I heard (and I am sure it is).

I have already blogged on this precious — much wanted — snake collection but I have not included the ‘collier’ (French for ‘necklace’). Géraldine Saglio’s snake Necklace was in gold on a black top. Believe me it was so beautiful.

This apart, I was working on a September’s Trend for this blog. Pumps, Hats, necklaces, bags from under $100 up to… Anyway… are what we must wear. That will be the occasion to discover a new Jewelry designer that I love so much…

Valérie Messika. I discovered her in a French magazine, certainly in Jalouse’s this September issue. And I fell in love, I confess. Not exclusively for her snake collection, but for all her jewels. Apart from Valérie Messika’s snake necklace, I am in love with, and this is not a surprise, Pierre Hardy’s Circle Sandals, Proenza Schouler’s Multi-Strap Sandals, Zara Patchwork Court Shoe, Elizabeth and James Wedge, and Balenciaga Escarpins (French for ‘Pump’ or ‘Court shoes’). I bought the H&M calf Hat but in Burgundy and I am planning to purchase the beige and the bag. But I confess to have on target this Emilio Pucci Calf Felt Hat (not yet blogged but soon). And what to think of the ‘indémodable’ (French for ‘Perennially fashionable’) Gérard Darel Midday Midnight Bag? (maybe hard to find in the U.S.…) and the Prada Gaufré Maxi Clutch? This September is announced to be very cool maybe to shift slowly but surely (doucement mais sûrement) into fall.

By the way, I received a pair of sunglasses from my mother, a vintage Emilio Pucci one she wore in the late 60’s that I will wear this fall and winter. I saw in a 2003 Vogue France, Sigrid de l’Épine, who had been responsible for Public Relations and Patrimony at Balenciaga for years and now works for Chanel Couture, wore a similar pair of sunglasses by Old England.

Those designers:

Valérie Messika

Balenciaga by Nicolas Ghesquière

Proenza Schouler

Aurélie Bidermann

Pierre Hardy

Gérard Darel

Elizabeth and James

Emilio Pucci

Robert Clergerie

Get the Look #1: clutch, dress, jewels, nail lacquer for green sandals

In Bags, Fashion, Jewelry, Nail polishes, Shoes on August 30, 2011 at 12:51 pm

We are now closed to the end of August (unfortunately or not). Shoes are the key of this look #1: a pair of sandals in green crystal by Jimmy Choo. Following the post that announced green as the color for this forthcoming fall season, here is a suggestion to compose the perfect, if not one of, style: a white dress (H&M), a clutch in black (Balenciaga by Nicolas Ghesquière, Jimmy Choo, and Proenza Schouler), jewels (Aurélie Bidermann), and a greeny-gold on nails (Chanel makeup), including this pair of sandals in green crystal (Jimmy Choo) for a fresh feel.

Denim is the New Fall – Chanel Les Jeans Nail Polish

In Nail polishes on August 21, 2011 at 8:24 pm

If you are in Paris, September 8th, go to the Vogue Fashion Night Paris*, Avenue Montaigne. Apart from fashion editors, stylists, and other Fashionistas that you will meet, you will take the advantage of this event to test (and buy) these three new nail polishes that will specially created by the talented makeup artist Peter Philips, also creative director for Chanel Makeup. Here are Chanel Les Jeans Nail Polish: a variation in denim.

What colors are they? Blue, blue, and blue like denim. Hence Les Jeans. Three variations in blue from light to deep blue but like denim: Blue Rebel, Blue Boy and Coco Blue are what to make your nails deliciously dressed. if you like blue (curiously they will perfectly match a certain Comme des Garçons Pochette in blue)…

If I were forced to choose among these three polishes, I’d take the coco blue, and blue boy, but the three polishes must be in my collection…
