Get the Look #1: clutch, dress, jewels, nail lacquer for green sandals

In Bags, Fashion, Jewelry, Nail polishes, Shoes on August 30, 2011 at 12:51 pm

We are now closed to the end of August (unfortunately or not). Shoes are the key of this look #1: a pair of sandals in green crystal by Jimmy Choo. Following the post that announced green as the color for this forthcoming fall season, here is a suggestion to compose the perfect, if not one of, style: a white dress (H&M), a clutch in black (Balenciaga by Nicolas Ghesquière, Jimmy Choo, and Proenza Schouler), jewels (Aurélie Bidermann), and a greeny-gold on nails (Chanel makeup), including this pair of sandals in green crystal (Jimmy Choo) for a fresh feel.

Denim is the New Fall – Chanel Les Jeans Nail Polish

In Nail polishes on August 21, 2011 at 8:24 pm

If you are in Paris, September 8th, go to the Vogue Fashion Night Paris*, Avenue Montaigne. Apart from fashion editors, stylists, and other Fashionistas that you will meet, you will take the advantage of this event to test (and buy) these three new nail polishes that will specially created by the talented makeup artist Peter Philips, also creative director for Chanel Makeup. Here are Chanel Les Jeans Nail Polish: a variation in denim.

What colors are they? Blue, blue, and blue like denim. Hence Les Jeans. Three variations in blue from light to deep blue but like denim: Blue Rebel, Blue Boy and Coco Blue are what to make your nails deliciously dressed. if you like blue (curiously they will perfectly match a certain Comme des Garçons Pochette in blue)…

If I were forced to choose among these three polishes, I’d take the coco blue, and blue boy, but the three polishes must be in my collection…

Objects of desire: Balenciaga Laptop Case and Tablet Case

In Bags on August 9, 2011 at 11:41 am

Two new Balenciaga accessories for this new week: The Laptop Case and the Tablet

I have a 15″ Macbook Pro that needs a new bag. Here is the Balenciaga Laptop Case in black made up of Calfskin leather which comes à pic to save my laptop (mine is in bad condition now). The interior is in black cotton canvas. Its size is 15″ W x 10″ H x 1″ D (limit for my macbook pro but it will enter easily, unless…). This très chic laptop Case is a good ‘friend’ for your Balenciaga bag, specially the Balenciaga Work, or for the Weekender (which appears to be discontinued and I don’t want this sad news to be confirmed. I just want to keep on dreaming on this bag, like a child).

Anyway, Balenciaga Laptop Case is avalaible on Balenciaga e-Store (and your local store), for $675.00 (U.S.), or €445.00 (France), or £425.00 (for U.K. Balenciaga addicts. Others don’t hesitate to check out your local store for detailed information).

The second one is the Balenciaga Tablet for tablet users (I know, I know but it appears to be compatible with iPad only). This case is available in two colors Black and Bleu Lavande. Yet, I saw a cyclamen in Paris Printemps Haussmann, consequently, the best is to go to your local store to check out more available swatches to choose your favorite one. Of course it is made of the so-called and chic soft vintage crafted lambskin. The interior is in microfiber. Its dimensions are good enough for an iPad: 8.5″ W x 10″ H. Yet I can’t confirm if the first version (The Ipag 1G) is compatible with this case.

The Balenciaga Tablet costs $465.00 (U.S.), €295.00 (France), £265.00 (U.K.).

Skin Perfector: SkinCeuticals Phloretin CF and Hydrating B5 Gel

In Skincare on August 7, 2011 at 2:05 am

Here is my two latest purchase in skincare category: SkinCeuticals Phloretin CF and Hydrating B5 Gel. I’ve already tried the Essential CE Ferulic. The result was surprisingly great. I confess to appreciate serum a lot, especially summer and winter, but now I use serum all over the year. The CE Ferulic used alone is fantastic yet, it rapidly made me understand that something is missing. After searching in magazines and talking with friends who work in fashion area, I heard about the Hydrating B5 Gel which must be applied after the CE Ferulic. As I need a new serum, instead of repurchasing the CE Ferulic, I decided to opt for the Phloretin CF.

SkinCeuticals Phloretin CF and Hydrating B5 GelLet’s begin with the Phloretin CF. Like the CE Ferulic, this product is made to protect your skin against environmental damages. However, Phloretin CF is announced to be a new class of preventive and corrective topical antioxidant treatment, according to SkinCeuticals.

Phloretin acid is new and has been discovered by SkinCeuticals so it will be hard to find in other serums. It is combined with Vitamin C and Ferulic Acid. Phloretin CF prevent your skin from free radicals as well as the range of other reactive molecules known to cause damage and DNA mutations among the integral cell types. Phloretin CF can also corrects existing damage by stimulating the synthesis of essential proteins and fibers and accelerating cell turnover.

So I gave it a try. The result is for now amazing. I must confess that I have normal to combination skin, a little bit sensitive yet tends to be dehydrated, particularly the dry area of my face. Then, I warmly recommend to use an antioxydant treatment from August/September (after having profiting from sun) to prevent sun damage. Yes it’s cool to be tanned but sun is one of skin’s best enemies, for sure. To prepare fall, the best way is to adopt an antioxydant treatment. Yes but the result can be really improved if you combine with another serum. Here comes Hydrating B5 Gel that I had dreamed to test. Hydrating B5 Gel contains ProVitamine B5, commonly known as Panthenol, also Hyaluronic Acid to replenish nutrients your skin needs to face environmental damage and prevent future signs of aging. It is also announced to boost your complexion — especially if you have dehydrated skin. If you’re insomniac, I warmly recommend to use an antioxidant — be it the Essential CE Ferulic or Phloretin CF depending on your type of skin or course — in combination with Hydrating B5 Gel. They seriously refresh your skin. I mean they refresh my skin. Both Phloretin CF and Hydrating B5 Gel have wonders for my skin.

I only apply 4 drops of Phloretin CF to my dry face, neck and chest (only the morning after cleansing to follow the directions) and follow with Hydrating B5 Gel applying 3-5 drops (I confess 5 drops), and a moisturizer and a sunscreen (because of Phloretin CF which contains Vitamin C). Hydrating B5 Gel can be used with no antioxydant treatment. In this case, just apply 3-5 drops with your fingers on your face, neck and chest and follow with your moisturizer. I use it morning and night after cleansing my face.

Object of desire: Aurelie Bidermann’s jewels: The Snake Collection

In Fashion, Jewelry on August 5, 2011 at 12:52 am

Nope, this is not real snakes. But I confess to have a crunch for reptiles particularly for crocodiles, but less for snakes. Yet, these snakes are so beautifully design, très chic.

SnakesI saw the bracelet in a French magazine. It may be Jalouse, a fashion magazine very popular in France. I am saving my money to have one the quicker I can. For, yes, these beauties have a price. The Silver “Snake” Ring is the less expensive. It only costs €293. The Gold “Snake” Ring differs to the silver one — its material aside — insofar as it is set with black diamonds, and costs €1415. The last one is my favorite because I deeply love bracelets. This White Gold Double “Snake” Bracelet is set with Black Diamonds. A beautiful design with delicate line, serti de diamants noirs (set with black diamonds in French). But it has a price: it unfortunately (for my wallet) costs €5000. Yes I know it is very expensive. However Aurélie Bidermann‘s materials are delicate, noble, as she says, and très elegant, just sublime. Very versatile, jewelry, for Bidermann, are designed to be easy to pair with all kind of clothes, day as evening.

As Aurélie Bidermann says, each piece tells its story. These jewels are designed to be adopted (as you may do with shoes and bags if you are shoes addicts or bag addicts).

Aurélie, tell me more about you?

Aurélie Bidermann is a French jewelry designer. With a master of art history, Aurélie Bidermann moved to New York. Her career first began at Sotherby’s impressionist department and then at the department of contemporary art. In contact with the greatest work of art and thanks to a unique expertise, Aurélie Bidermann feeds her creative desires. In 1999, she takes up against all odds her studies, hoping one day create her own works.

Aurélie Bidermann returns to her first love and begins to study stones. She achieved a faultless course: Gemology School in Antwerp and specialization in technical drawings to BJO in Paris. Aurélie Bidermann‘s style is nowadays recognizable among all. Imitated but never equaled, the poetic creations of Aurélie Bidermann are a true declaration of peace. A red Line from Jerusalem married a sumptious jet-black elephant from India, aquamarine and shells go together well with a topaz glitter… Love, serenity, and fantasy are the founding of the brand’s philosophy, a real “art of happiness”.

To meet the expectations of demanding clients and of still growing orders from the new stores, the designer renews her sources of inspiration and imagines pieces of exception, much to the delight of an unconditional and international clientele, among others, Kate Moss, Liv Tyler, Sofia Coppola, Gwyneth Paltrow, or Sarah Jessica Parker.

My love affair with Nuxe Body Scrub

In Skincare on August 4, 2011 at 12:57 am

What a surprise!! I am visiting Vogue Italia website. Vogue Italia is probably one of my favorite vogue for its editorial strategy and contents. Here is another interview — this time no video — of founder of Nuxe, Aliza Jabès. A French girl who loves taking care of our skin.

Nuxe founder Aliza Jabès

As reported on Vogue Italia, Aliza Jabès has a strong passion for vegetable world and phythotherapy. For Aliza Jabès, Nuxe is the perfect combination of richness and simplicity, apparently thanks to her parents. She advices a good moisturizing cream makes skin hydrated, refined, luminous, keeping it young-looking.

Let’s move onto one product that I deeply appreciate. I’ve already tested Nuxe products and I truly and particularly love its body scrub. My body skin is very (and I insist) sensitive. So I am very strict when choosing a body scrub. This creamy Nuxe body scrub is one is perfect with its delicious odor.

Nuxe Body Scrub

This creamy body scrub gently exfoliates my skin. It contains among others orange zest, Lichee stone extracts, and walnut shell powder. Also sunflower, corn and coconut, almond and orange flower petals. As a result, my skin is soft and refined. Maybe if it contains products like Shea Butter my skin will be happier. Anyway.

Nuxe Body Scrub is available for $23.

Video of the day: Interview with MUA Tiziana Libardo by Vogue Italia

In Makeup on August 4, 2011 at 12:26 am

The video of the day is the interview of the Italian Make-up artist Tiziana Libardo who works at the Teatro alla Scala, precisely who collaborates with classical dancers. Tiziana Libardo is a très chic woman who loves theatre. And I second her passion for theaters. She usually uses Shiseido and Carita. The video can be watched by clicking here. This video is among a series of interviews lauched by Vogue Italia.
